Quality Inspector Job Description
Location: Wixom, MI, 48393

Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process, first article, and final inspection of manufactured product/parts. The role involves maintaining processes and procedures to continuously improve the quality system, as well as setup and utilization of a variety of quality inspection instruments and gaging. The Quality Inspector will also maintain and perform inspection processes as defined within the quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform quality and inspection processes within Company guidelines and customer specifications using a variety of inspection methods, techniques, and equipment both in the Inspection room and on the production floor.
Perform inspection of all manufactured parts to ensure parts meet customer specifications and requirements.
Support the Quality Manager in maintaining adequate procedures to ensure the quality of all parts manufactured or purchased.
Train manufacturing and quality personnel on basic inspection techniques and requirements to perform necessary inspections as necessary.
Ensure all required paperwork and inspection records are documented and complete.
Maintain traceability of parts and materials in accordance with customer requirements.
Maintain control of incoming parts and materials through applicable specifications, or source control drawings.
Ensure that all parts and materials received for use are identified with the applicable part/material designation.

Requirements:
Must possess problem-solving skills
Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in manufacturing environment
Basic computer skills along with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel software
Ability to read and write.
Must be able to use and read micrometer, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, profilometers and optical comparators
Basic blueprint reading skills with an understanding of GD&T
Ability to perform basic shop math functions
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Detail oriented, organized and able to work in a multi-tasked environment
3-5 years experience
