Avionics Assembly Inspector B
Function independently plan and perform visual inspection and testing operations on electrical and electronic panel/box assemblies, printed wiring boards fiber optic cables/assemblies and harnesses. Typical Responsibilities Assignment to this position is conditional upon receiving, and maintaining, Manufacturing Operator Certification, High Reliability, Soldering certification to SS7200, successful completion of eye, literacy, and instructional class(es)/tests, and maintenance of statistically documented quality production work levels. Follow general instructions, standard inspection procedures, engineering drawings or schematics, Sikorsky standards/specifications, military standards/specifications, check lists, work guides, records, and other written or oral instructions to perform inspection and testing operation on electrical or electronic panel/box assemblies and printed wiring broads, inspect components and assemblies for physical conditions, surface finish, identification, completion of all operations, acceptable workmanship, and complete and acceptable paperwork. Specific inspections include, but are not limited to, nicked/broken wiring strands, marking legibility, wiring strain relief, electrical/mechanical connection integrity, solder connections to military standards such as 2000A and 454 requirements, printed wiring boards' conformal coat wiring routing, contact and terminal crimping, splicing, connector grommet seal integrity, tying and reinspection of rework. Work out of department as required. Maintain documentation of operations performed. Refer only unusual situations or problems to working leader, supervisor or engineering as required. Perform other related inspection duties as required. Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures. As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
