Software Developer (COBOL) - Remote
Contract Duration: 11 months.
Key Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in design, development, maintenance, and support on IBM Mainframe using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow). Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Preferred Skills:
Analyze and document existing mainframe application processes for modernization. Manage and refresh Mainframe SIT and CAT environments with production data. Execute and resolve errors in Mainframe SIT and CAT batch processing cycles. Apply business requirements to mainframe applications. Ensure critical defects are resolved before production implementation. Follow Technology Solutions Life Cycle (TSLC) processes and obtain necessary approvals. Strong implementation skills for complex business requirements. Update configuration diagrams and documentation. Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed. Collaborate with customers and end-users to ensure requirements are met.
Education:
Preferred: A degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant field.
