Plant Hygienist

The Plant Hygienist is a subject matter expert leveraging microbiological expertise to ensure the factory is designed and operating by Hygienic Design principles. As the SME for the site, you will lead the implementation and maintenance of hygienic design best practices in coordination with the Global Hygienist and company Hygienic Design Standards. This position will act as the primary point of contact for Quality, Supply, Engineering and Technical to ensure hygienic design requirements are in compliance at the site. Location: St. Peters, MO Pay Range: $110,000-$145,000 What's the Job?

Drives the STP site hygienic design risk assessment program, completing hygienic design assessment checklists and FMEA risk assessments as required ensuring microbiological risks are suitably controlled and any requirements for CAPEX investment are escalated. Ensures provision of microbiological expertise by working with Engineering teams on both new factory installations and assessment of existing equipment for the STP site. Participates as an active member in the global and/or North American Hygienic Design Community of Excellence (COE) to foster best practice sharing and act as the forum for gap assessing new regulations or standards in hygienic design. Liaises with the Global Hygienic Design COE, ensuring Global Hygienic Design best practices are implemented at the STP site. Acts as the sanitation supervisor to support the site cleaning & sanitation program in collaboration with facilities & technical team. Supports the Global and/or North American Regional Hygienist for development of hygienic design and microbiological guidance documents. What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, engineering or related area. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a GMP manufacturing setting. High level of microbiological knowledge and expertise for testing methods, laboratory management and factory facilities/equipment. Ability to understand and resolve technical issues using root cause analysis techniques. Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as needed. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and experience with Capital Expenditures. What's in it for me?
