Colgate-Palmolive Company is seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist of Biomedical Engineering to join the Global Devices Research and Innovation team. This role involves the development and validation of advanced imaging methodologies to monitor oral & skin health, and to substantiate product efficacy. The successful candidate will engage in extensive collaboration with a diverse, cross-functional team of internal and external subject matter experts across Biological Sciences, Clinical Innovation, Engineering, and Marketing disciplines. Responsibilities Develop, validate and implement in vitro and in vivo imaging methodologies pertinent to both oral and skin health. Build, customize and test hardware solutions for automated data collection and test protocols for laboratory and clinical applications. Develop and validate automated data processing pipelines for various imaging modalities, including advanced mathematical models and sophisticated simulations. Conduct in vitro and in vivo research investigations with biological sciences and clinical teams. Generate required documentation, including instrument specifications and validation reports, laboratory testing & clinical protocols, and formal research reports on study outcomes. Present technical information, including scientific principles, and engineering concepts to senior management, marketing teams, and R&D colleagues. Contribute to intellectual property generation through the development of invention records and active support for patent applications. Required Qualifications Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or a closely related scientific or engineering discipline. A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the development and practical application of in vitro and in vivo imaging methodologies for biological systems. Demonstrated expertise in spectral imaging for biological systems Hands-on experience in the design, construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical imaging devices and laboratory automation using robotics. Experience in development and validation of color measurement protocols using imaging devices. Expertise in image processing and the development of sophisticated data processing algorithms utilizing modern programming languages (for example Python). Demonstrated skills in the application of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence techniques for data analysis and the development of predictive models. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in oral and skin health applications of spectral imaging is highly preferred. Self-motivated individual who excels in a team-oriented environment and possesses a demonstrated capability for effective collaboration with professionals from diverse backgrounds and expertise.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $83,200.00 - $117,500.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
