Director Global Trade Compliance - TCRS4546

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Director, Global Trade Compliance leads the corporate global export and import program through the implementation of strategies that provide direction and regulatory guidance to all multiple business units, ensuring compliance with the company Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and U.S. and international export and import law.

This is hybrid position based near Stamford, Connecticut with 25-30% travel as needed.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure a compliant and efficient trade compliance program
  • Lead a high performing trade team across three business units and multiple global regions
  • Expert level knowledge of customs regulations; HTS/ECCN Classification, COO, Valuation, FTA
  • Understanding of export controls; EAR, ITAR, Dual Use, export license, Restricted Party Screening, etc.
  • Perform risk assessments and audits and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Design and monitor compliance with commercial and defense export license processes
  • Provide strategic direction on trade compliance matters to internal stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex trade issues to multiple levels in the organization
  • Stay current with changes to regulations and understand the impact on import and export processes

ESSENTIALS

  • 15+ years’ experience working with global import and export compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Project management skills preferred (LEAN, Six Sigma, PMP, etc)
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracts, EAR and ITAR regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build trusted relationships with key partners
  • Strategic thinker with ability to anticipate, assess, and quantify risk while creating mitigation plan
  • Strong people leader, fostering a culture of collaboration and transparency
  • Must be a U.S. Persons defined by 22 CFR 120.15
