Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Applied AI Engineers / Builders (San Francisco)

$140K – $200K base + equity (depending on experience)

Our client is scaling their applied AI team and hiring multiple Applied AI Engineers / Builders to help define the next wave of GenAI products. You’ll work hands-on with LLMs, RAG, multimodal models, and agentic systems, shipping production-ready features end-to-end.

What you’ll do

  • Fine-tune and deploy LLMs into customer-facing applications
  • Design and ship infra + APIs from scratch
  • Work with Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain, vector DBs, and modern cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker)
  • Operate in a high-ownership environment, shaping products with direct business impact

We’re looking for engineers who:

  • Have 2–7+ years in AI/ML or software engineering
  • Bring early-stage startup DNA, ideally prior founder/founding engineer experience, or time at a Tier-1 venture-backed startup (Series A–C)
  • Demonstrate a builder mindset with side projects, GitHub repos, or shipped products
  • Communicate impact clearly, not just code

You’ll be part of a small, high-caliber team building applied AI systems that move the needle — with the freedom and equity upside of an early-stage startup.
