Senior Software Programmer

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior Software Programmer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA or Plano, TX. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years! Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Programmer to lead the design and development of innovative software solutions. This role involves working independently to assess customer needs, architect scalable applications, and implement modern technologies across the full development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong front-end development experience, proficiency in cloud services (especially AWS), and a solid understanding of DevOps practices. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and maintain existing systems while driving continuous improvement. Required Qualifications to Be Successful in This Role

Proven ability to independently analyze customer needs and design solution frameworks. Strong front-end development experience with Angular, TypeScript, Webpack, and PrimeNG. Solid understanding of Java/J2EE technologies including Spring and Spring Boot. Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, ECS Fargate, and API Gateway. Familiarity with AWS CLI, SDKs, and service APIs for application development. Proficiency in relational databases (Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL, joins, normalization). Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Terraform, Maven, Gradle, and SonarQube. Exposure to unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and API testing tools (Postman). Experience with test automation tools such as Karate, Cucumber, and Selenium. Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Experience with Python programming. Knowledge of SRE practices and tools like Splunk. Familiarity with Docker and microservices architecture. Exposure to serverless frameworks and cloud security best practices. Experience with monitoring and logging in cloud environments. Minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95,800.00 - $121,900.00.
