Software Engineer III , you'll be at the heart of developing and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure for
High Performance Computing (HPC) systems . Your expertise will directly power national security operations by ensuring that complex systems run efficiently, securely, and reliably. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want your work to make a tangible difference, this role is for you. Here's What Your Day-to-Day Might Include Designing, coding, debugging, and enhancing
system management infrastructure software
for HPC systems in a Linux environment. Automating workflows with
Bash and Python scripting
to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors. Developing software solutions in
Python and Rust
tailored for high-performance, large-scale computing. Building and supporting containerized applications using
Docker, PodMan, and containerd . Deploying and managing systems with
Ansible
while ensuring operational resilience. Troubleshooting live operational systems, identifying performance bottlenecks, and implementing fixes. Leveraging
CI/CD pipelines
with GitLab CI and Jenkins to deliver secure, reliable updates. Collaborating with mission stakeholders, DevOps engineers, and application teams to ensure software solutions meet technical and mission requirements. Minimum Qualifications Clearance:
Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active). We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances. Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas. Education & Experience: Master's degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) with
5+ years of SWE experience , OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) with
7+ years of SWE experience , OR 9+ years of
relevant Software Engineering experience
in programs of similar scope and complexity.
Required Skills Strong experience using the
Linux CLI . Proficiency in
Bash and Python scripting
for automation. Demonstrated experience developing software in
Python and Rust
in Linux environments. Hands-on experience with
containerization
(Docker, PodMan, containerd). Proficiency with
Ansible
or similar automation frameworks. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for operational systems. Familiarity with
CI/CD methodologies
and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins. Proficiency with
Git
source control. Desired Qualifications Familiarity with
Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools
such as Netbox. Experience with
observability and analytics platforms
(e.g., Splunk). Familiarity with
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
solutions such as Keycloak. Familiarity with
secret management tools
like HashiCorp Vault. Experience using the
Atlassian Tool Suite
(JIRA, Confluence). Working knowledge of
Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies . Compensation Range: $179,000.00 - $237,000.00
