Public Health Data Analyst SME
to work
remotely
with the possibility of working onsite in
Atlanta, GA
in the future. You will provide public health programmatic, epidemiological, and scientific data analytical support to the CDC Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology (OPHDST). Your role involves supporting research studies and performing data analytics on large healthcare datasets. As part of the Science and Analytics Team, you will assist scientists with data analysis using tools like R, Python, SAS, SQL, and proprietary tools. Experience with Palantir Foundry for data analysis and visualization is desired, as the role will transition to using this platform within 6-12 months. The team offers expertise on statistical modeling and interpretation of large datasets, including surveillance, EMR, and clinical data. Your responsibilities include analyzing complex studies, developing methodologies, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences. Responsibilities: Manage and analyze large datasets using Python, SQL, SAS, or R; learn proprietary tools like Truveta Studio if needed. Transfer knowledge of analytics tools and software languages to client staff. Support CDC clearance processes for scientific products. Conduct exploratory and study-specific analyses of healthcare data. Develop and interpret complex data analyses, visualize results with tools like PowerBI. Collaborate with program staff on study design, analysis, and interpretation. Co-author scientific papers and present findings publicly. Validate results and ensure accuracy. Qualifications: MPH with focus on Epidemiology and Data Analytics; 2+ years supporting private or federal sectors. Experience with data wrangling and analysis in cloud environments. Advanced skills in Python, R, or SQL for healthcare data manipulation. Experience with Microsoft Azure; preferred experience with Databricks and Palantir Foundry. Knowledge of healthcare coding terminologies (ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, NDC). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Security Requirements: Must be a US Citizen or able to obtain a US Government security clearance (Public Trust 5).
