Senior It Specialist/Service Desk Lead
This position supports the Service Desk and reports to the Service Desk Administrator. The position can execute all tier 1 and 2 service desk tasks and must be able to perform the following additional duties: Analyzing system requirements and ensuring that systems will be securely integrated with current applications. Installing, configuring, and testing IT systems including servers, hardware and software upgrades, and other devices. Managing mobile device inventory to include updates, account management, and rooting. Monitoring system performance for function and security. Managing IT projects to improve infrastructure. Maintaining disaster recovery operations including backup and restore procedures. Documenting IT infrastructure layout and design for future reference and upgrades. Working with team developers and organizational IT staff to provide technical guidance. Implementing technology and industry best practices. Monitoring and managing data storage systems within the team. Design and implement functional network infrastructure. Resolve issues that developers have escalated by troubleshooting local infrastructure. Analyze system logs and identifying potential issues. Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness. Mentor team members on technical issues. Conduct regular system audits. Required qualifications: Active Top Secret Clearance Certifications preferred include: A+ (Preferred), Network + (Preferred), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (Preferred) Proven work experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role. Experience with databases and networks (LAN, WAN). Knowledge of data backup and recovery. Ability to create scripts in Python or other languages. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (MacOS, Ubuntu and CentOS Linux). Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills.
