Oncology/Hematology diagnoses are the primary group of patients we serve. In addition, it specializes in surgical oncology which includes patients requiring surgical interventions related to head and neck cancers, gynecological cancers, and breast cancers. Our team strives to provide the optimal patient experience and healthy work environment for the staff. The fast-paced environment offers opportunities to provide compassionate care, grow clinical skills using evidence-based practice, and participate in research and decision making through our Nurse Practice Council. Patient Ratio 1:4-5, 40 beds surgical oncology PCU. 2 main population oncology, chemo administrated at times not often. Also deal with end of life, cancer diagnosis. 2-part patient population: Head and neck surgeries (Neck and above) remove thyroids, tongue cancers, tumors in face, eyes, etc. They sometimes get malignant tumors in head and neck. Will scan and determine how tumor will be removed. Hours and hours of surgery with flap over area and blood supply. Patients are disfigured. The role you'll contribute: The ANM is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager or Director in overall operations of their assigned unit. Is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The ANM is skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services to our patient population. The ANM assures quality of care is delivered to our patients and demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources. Is supportive of change activities on their unit and works to assure implementation of change that may occur. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Is an expert in the clinical practice requirements of their unit.
