The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:30, with 1 weekend per month. Essential duties and responsibilities include fitting prescription lenses and preparing patients for examinations. The candidate will take patient history and preliminary patient data. They will perform simple non-invasive testing of visual acuity, pupils, and ocular motility. Automated visual field testing and ophthalmic photography and digital imaging will also be part of the role. The candidate should perform tonometry, lensometry, and non-subjective autorefraction. They will administer non-controlled substances for ophthalmic purposes. Additional tasks include performing pachymetry, keratometry, A scans, B scans, and electrodiagnostic testing. Environmental cleaning and disinfection of clinical areas are required. The candidate will assist in preparations for surgical and other clinical procedures, including equipment sterilization. They will provide patient instructions concerning eye care and help them understand and comply with prescribed treatments. Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, multi-provider office is preferred. The candidate should have proficiency with VF, IOL, OCT, and Optos. Skills needed include basic eye exams, surgical assistance, and patient teaching regarding ocular medications. The role requires the ability to obtain and record medical history, measure visual acuity, and perform intraocular pressure measurements. Candidates must be versatile and flexible regarding patient care needs.
