Quality Engineer/Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Instructor
APT Research is looking for a highly qualified, part-time/on-call (PTOC) Quality Engineer/Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Instructor. Responsibilities: Provide PTOC SME support for training courses/instruction. Provide PTOC SME support for short term/special projects. Provide PTOC SME support for mentoring/project oversight. Provide PTOC SME support for proposal input/review. Coordinate with Training Manager to schedule/conduct/teach training courses. Required Experience/Education: BS in related field (e.g. science, mathematics, etc.) from an ABET-accredited institution 15+ years of QE/QA experience Knowledge and experience with: AWS CWI (American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector) IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies with Space Addendum IPC/WHMA-A-620 - Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies CIS cert NASA-STD-8739.1 - Workmanship Standard for Polymeric Application on Electronic Assemblies, Inspection cert NASA-STD-8739.4 - Crimping, Interconnecting Cables, Harnesses and Wiring Inspection Cert Security Clearance Requirement: US Citizenship Ability to get security clearance if required Additional Experience: Extensive knowledge in Quality Engineering / Quality Assurance processes and analysis techniques Possess an interpersonal style that enhances productivity, promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and maintains effective working relationships with other organizations and customers Quality Engineering / Quality Assurance Instructor/mentoring experience Essential Job Functions: Work Environment: Office environment Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers Travel Requirements: May require some travel Physical Requirements: Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk Ability to lift >15 lbs EOE/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled
