We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced UAV Pilot to join our Aero Services Division in San Angelo, Texas. This role will support a specific customer and will not involve extensive travel.
Under general direction, this position is responsible for coordinating ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and ground and flight safety. Serves as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned Unmanned Air Vehicle(s) (UAV) and as Instructor Pilot providing academic and in-flight instruction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and actively participates in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety. Remotely pilots vehicle to determine compliance with specifications and operational suitability during engineering tests and flight test/demonstration support through prescribed tests and maneuvers. Defines, plans, organizes, and executes flight programs and flight test events. Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policies, procedures, and FAA regulations. May develop and verify procedures for new aircraft features and participates in developing operational, safety procedures, and training syllabus courseware. Conducts demonstrations and participates in operational ground and flight tests of UAVs. Represents the organization with military and commercial customers. Instructs UAV student pilots in ground and flight operations. Observes all laws, regulations, and obligations applicable to business conduct. Works safely in accordance with established procedures and practices. Performs additional duties as assigned or required. We value diversity and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. Typically requires education equivalent to a four-year technical degree or trade school, and five or more years of UAV operation or aviation experience. Equivalent military or professional experience may substitute for education. Must have a detailed understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts. Must also possess: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with current instrument rating and ability to maintain instrument currency, or DOD specialized remotely piloted aircraft system training/qualification documented on USAF Form 8 or equivalent; Pilot-in-Command (PIC). At least 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC). Ability to obtain DHS-CBP Customer Specific Clearance Background Investigation. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of personnel and customers. Ability to work independently and in a team, extended hours, and travel as needed. Salary:
