Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - FT Massac Memorial Hospital Summary:
Provide treatment to assigned patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist (OT) following established plan of care. Work collaboratively with supervising OT & other healthcare professionals & staff to ensure patients reach maximum level of function. Reports to:
Rehab Manager Essential Functions (Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities): Provide direct patient care following the Illinois State Practice Act (ISPA) & department procedures under supervision of OT. Communicate regularly with OT on patient progress & any condition change. Provide patient and/or family with education & home exercise program instruction. Maintain patient records including progress notes, discharges, notes to physicians & required prescriptions & signatures. Comply with all hospital policies & procedures (P&P) as applicable for position including employee handbook, department & administrative P&P, goals & objectives for self, department & performance improvement, safety, compliance program, accreditation & survey standards, HIPAA & confidentiality & infection control. Keep knowledge and skills current via education activities, in-services and other training. Perform related duties as needed. Minimum Qualification Education: Graduate of accredited OTA program with an Illinois license (or temporary work permit). Experience: At least 1 year preferred, in a hospital or nursing home setting
