Summary: As the Senior VP of Development, you will be responsible for actively sourcing and identifying third party management opportunities that align with Arbor’s growth strategy. Additionally, this role will strengthen Arbor’s relationship with various ownership groups, hotel development groups, and market communities. The SVP of Development will be a significant contributor to both existing and prospective clients.
Duties & Responsibilities: Design and execute a sustainable business development strategy that supports Arbor Lodging’s short-term and long-term goals Identify target markets, brands, potential acquisitions, and conversion opportunities aligned with our vision Source, evaluate, and pursue hotel management opportunities across key markets Build and maintain a strong pipeline by cultivating relationships with owners, developers, and industry stakeholders Assess opportunities through operational analysis, STR reports, GSS scores, and market dynamics Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals, presentations, and solutions that meet growth objectives Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly Possess a well-rounded understanding of both branded and independent hotel operations (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt) Requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred Minimum of 8 years’ experience in branded hospitality development is required, plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior leadership capacity (VP/SVP) Extensive knowledge of the hotel industry, including operations and investment performance Experience with client relationship management Ability to build and foster client relationships, resulting in long term retention and expansion Ability to collaborate with internal partners Superior written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, organized, results-driven, detail-oriented Travel required based on business demands
