Who You Are: A forward-thinking operational leader with deep technical experience managing large-scale data center environments, particularly those built to support AI/ML workloads and high-performance computing. A strategic planner and tactical executor who can bridge long-term infrastructure vision with day-to-day reliability and efficiency of critical operations. Adept at managing complex systems, optimizing electrical and mechanical infrastructure, and implementing best practices for reliability, availability, and scalability. What Youll Do: Lead day-to-day operations of Galaxys data center portfolio, with a strong focus on maintaining reliable operations of the data center infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure. Develop and implement operational procedures that maximize uptime, efficiency, and safety across multiple geographically distributed facilities. Collaborate with hardware, network, and facilities teams to design and deploy optimized infrastructure for AI workloads, including advanced mechanical systems and high-density racks within data halls. Manage and scale capacity planning, ensuring alignment with electrical, mechanical, and footprint availability to meet the demands of current and future AI infrastructure. Collaborate on future site selection and construction planning efforts for data center builds and/or expansions. Establish strong vendor relationships and help negotiate service-level agreements to ensure consistent and reliable operational support. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain industry-leading operational excellence. Champion Galaxys operational strategy with executive leadership, providing insights and forecasts to support business decisions. Drive adherence to fiscal responsibility through budget tracking, cost optimization strategies, and regular KPI reporting on operational efficiency, spend, and performance outcomes. What Were Looking For: 7+ years of experience managing mission-critical data center operations, with 2+ years in environments optimized for AI, ML, or HPC workloads (preference for direct-to-liquid chip (DLC) experience). Chemistry management experience with PG25, PG55, and other heat transfer liquids within critical data center environments. Proven expertise in scaling infrastructure to support GPU-intensive computing, including familiarity with liquid cooling, airflow design, and energy-efficient power systems. Deep knowledge of facilities engineering, electrical and mechanical systems, and critical monitoring tools (e.g., BMS, EPMS, DCIM). Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing distributed operations at scale. Experience working with cloud service providers, colocation vendors, and electrical utilities. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field required; advanced certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, PMP, ITIL) preferred.
