Medical Assistant-Oncology
Location: Carroll Hospital, Westminster, MD Schedule: Full-Time | MondayFriday | 8:00 AM
4:30 PM Position Summary: Carroll Hospital is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide essential support to physicians and healthcare providers by ensuring smooth patient flow, assisting with clinical procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe care environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring patients feel supported, informed, and cared for during their visits. Key Responsibilities: Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas. Record patient data before each visit including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates. Perform clinical assessments within scope, such as Fall Risk assessments and basic patient education. Retrieve patient records and verify the presence of required consents before procedures. Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms; manage inventory and expiration of supplies. Assist physicians during exams and procedures. Draw blood specimens and prepare them for lab transport, following OSHA and infection control protocols. Maintain cleanliness and disinfection protocols in clinical areas. Test emergency equipment (e.g., eyewash stations, AED batteries) and document results. Obtain patient records and test results for new and follow-up visits. Perform general administrative tasks such as typing, faxing, and reception duties as needed. Qualifications: Required: Medical experience in a clinical setting BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider certification Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Why Join Carroll Hospital?
