SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities concerned with production of company products
and oversees production workers in the manufacturing area by performing the following
duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and delegates duties. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Consults with Operations relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Provide a safe work environment by communicating and enforcing compliance of all safety policies and procedures; Conducts and follows through on safety inspections; Attends and participates in safety functions. Conducts and follows through with accident investigations and accident-related reporting in a timely manner. Effectively manages return to work program. Ensures effective training of new and existing employees. Provides positive leadership by maintaining open communication with all employees. Confers with other areas of production to coordinate activities of individual departments. Stays informed on facility specific environmental policies and standards and ensures requirements are established, implemented, and maintained. Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises employees in Extrusion and Thermoforming. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree with eight to ten years of manufacturing experience and three to five years of supervisory related experience and/or training, or two- or four-year degree in management related field with eight to ten years of manufacturing experience and one to two years of supervisory related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to operate PC and standard office equipment. ERP experience preferred. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in English is required. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees, including top management, in a variety of settings is required.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, walk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop, and bend. The employee must seldom lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described in this section are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year. The noise levels can be moderate to high. The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required while on production floor. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required. The noise level in the office is usually quiet. The noise level in production is usually moderate.
WORK AVAILABLITY
Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
