Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Tempe, AZ. As an AP Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining records, and supporting the finance team with essential accounting tasks. To succeed in this position, you'll need proficiency in QuickBooks or Sage, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Process, review, and verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness. Ensure all vendor payments are timely and accurately recorded in compliance with company procedures. Resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payment terms, or vendor accounts. Manage the accounts payable ledger and ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible. Collaborate with the finance team to complete the month-end closing process, including AP reconciliations. Communicate with vendors to address payment inquiries and build positive relationships. Assist with audit and compliance requirements related to accounts payable. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in the AP function. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles. Software Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work with QuickBooks or Sage accounting software. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with accounts payable in industries like construction, manufacturing, real estate, or healthcare is advantageous. Familiarity with additional accounting platforms or ERP systems is a plus. Additional Requirements: Must be able to pass a background check.
