Contract Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing financial operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger activities. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, and collections. Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Reconcile bank accounts and address any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial workflows and ensure compliance with company policies. Assist in the implementation and integration of accounting systems, providing testing, training, and feedback. Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend process improvements. Maintain clear and organized documentation of financial processes and policies. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Provide timely and accurate responses to internal and external financial inquiries. Requirements: A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on AP and AR. Proficiency in handling General Ledger activities and preparing journal entries. Strong familiarity with accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
