CNC Machinist
The CNC Machinist plays a crucial role in setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, and routers with precision to ensure compliance with company and customer standards. This position may also involve programming parts, assisting team members, and providing training and guidance to new machine operators and machinists. Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machines and adjust machine controls as required. Verify conformance of finished products to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly using jigs, fixtures, surface plates, surface tables, hand tools, and power tools. Confer with production personnel and programmers to resolve machining or assembly problems. Observe all first article, in-process, and final inspection requirements. Perform other duties as required. Essential Skills
3 years of relevant CNC machining experience preferred. Knowledge of CNC machining techniques and methods. Understanding of tool geometry, applications, speeds, and feeds. Proficiency in programming CNC machines at the controller. Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints, including GD&T. Skilled in using precision measuring tools. Ability to set up machines based on setup sheets. Ability to indicate tooling. Strong ability to work independently. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using precision measuring devices. Solid math skills. Manual Lathe Experience. Troubleshooting skills. Experience with Haas mills. Blueprint reading. Why Work Here?
