Location: Washington, DC (with possible remote support upon approval) SUMMARY We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data solutions. This role will shape the Board's data infrastructure strategy, oversee integrations, and ensure security and compliance across cloud and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data architecture, governance, and modernization initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design enterprise database architectures and evaluate technology solutions.
- Create integration strategies, data governance roadmaps, and quality standards.
- Facilitate technical discussions and lead architecture reviews.
- Plan database consolidation, optimization, and migrations.
- Architect security frameworks and FISMA-compliant solutions.
- Develop data privacy, protection, and governance strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and establish database best practices.
- Present technical recommendations to leadership and drive modernization initiatives.
- 8+ years in database architecture and data engineering roles.
- Enterprise-scale database transformations, migrations, governance frameworks, data lakes, warehouses, and hybrid cloud systems.
- Database security frameworks, FISMA compliance, ATO processes, continuous monitoring, and data privacy regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Master's or advanced certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or PMP preferred).
- Personnel must be able to maintain the required level of clearance (Moderate Risk) while supporting the Board on this effort.
