Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

RouteSmart Technologies, a leader in vehicle route optimization software technology, is seeking aBack-End Software Engineer to join our development team. This role willreport directly to the Lead Software Engineerand is responsible for designing, coding, and supporting a variety of web applications and services.
These include the development of a suite of cross-platform routing systems that feature complex GIS and mapping functionality, combined with user-friendly design and clear navigation. A basic understanding of RouteSmart products is essential to ensure accurate feature implementation.
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between$100,000-$110,000 per year. RouteSmart Technologies, Inc. has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the U.S., and base pay will vary based on experience.
This is a hybrid role; candidates must be able to commute to the office inMelville, NY or Columbia, MD . Candidates must reside within50 milesand be available to work onsiteseveral days per week.
However, we will consider the right candidate for remote work if domiciled in one of the following states:Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Write well written, testable, and efficient code by using software development best practices that comply with thespecifications provided
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and fix errors in code
• Design and construct database objects such as tables, indexes and stored procedures
• Write various back-end services that can be leveraged by web designers to create web products
• Write DML SQL commands, functions, and scripts
• Research new industry coding standards that can be used to improve the team's ability to create secure, high-quality, high-performance applications
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
  

Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of multi-tiered, multi-threaded and multi-user applications
• Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL, etc.) and writing basic database queries
• Understanding ofwebapplication security as well as code development best practices
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree inComputerScience, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field
• Experience with C#and .NET Coredevelopment using Visual Studio and other Microsoft development tools
• 3+years minimum experience as a programmer writingserver-sidecomponents
