My client is a San Diego-based general contractor with a strong track record in retail and restaurant construction projects . They are a smaller but growing company, known for their hands-on approach, close client relationships, and consistent delivery of high-quality builds. With a steady pipeline of work, they are looking to add a Project Engineer to their team.
Job Description
- Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and project logs
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and materials
- Support scheduling and cost control throughout all project phases
- Attend site walks and help track project progress and quality
- Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and field staff
The Successful Applicant
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial building and construction, ideally with retail and/or restaurant projects in Irvine
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in construction software (Procore experience a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
