Bookkeeper Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is part-time, with the potential to grow as the workload increases, and offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while ideally being based locally in Charleston, South Carolina. Responsibilities:
- Handle daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online or other client-preferred software.
- Assist with clean-up efforts for clients with disorganized or outdated accounting systems.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for review and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with established workflows, standard operating procedures, and accounting principles.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Safeguard sensitive client information by adhering to strict confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with property management clients, utilizing tools such as Appfolio or Yardi when applicable.
- Support the onboarding of new clients by organizing and structuring their financial data.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-facing role.
- At least 1 year of experience in accounting for property management, real estate, or law firms.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.
- Familiarity with property management accounting software such as Appfolio is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to handle multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
