RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recording Financial Transactions: Keeping accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • This involves using accounting software such as QuickBooks, spreadsheets, or ledger books.
  • Maintaining General Ledgers: Updating and maintaining the general ledger, which is a comprehensive record of all financial transactions.
  • Reconciling Accounts: Ensuring that the records in the organization's accounts match the corresponding bank statements and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, data entries, and financial statements.
  • Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable: Tracking and managing money owed by the company (accounts payable) and money owed to the company (accounts receivable).
  • Ensuring Compliance: Making sure that financial records comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assisting with Audits: Providing information and documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations; assist with preparation and review of tax returns.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Helping in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitoring and recording expenses, ensuring they are correctly categorized and accounted for.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Two years of progressive experience in bookkeeping and finance roles.
  • Proficiency in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, debits, credits, and budgeting.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
