Seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a K-12 educational setting in Kirtland, NM. This position is available for both full-time and part-time placements and spans a full semester contract. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive an effective and accessible education.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairmentsDeliver specialized instruction in orientation and mobility, braille, assistive technology, and other relevant skillsCollaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student successMonitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as neededProvide resources and training to school staff regarding visual impairment accommodations and strategiesQualifications and Desired Experience:Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairmentsFamiliarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility principlesStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needsLocation: Kirtland, New MexicoThis position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and independence of visually impaired students in a supportive environment.
