Teacher of the Visually Impaired Virtual Role in Somerset, KY Location: Somerset, KY (Remote) Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (K-12) About VocoVision: VocoVision is seeking a passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide remote educational services to K-12 students in Somerset, Kentucky. This is a great opportunity to work with students who are blind or visually impaired, helping them to develop key skills and access their education in a fully virtual environment. What Youll Be Doing: Deliver virtual specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, focusing on braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and adaptive technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students. Assess student progress, adjust instructional methods, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure educational success. Offer training and guidance to school staff and parents on supporting students with visual impairments in the virtual setting. Attend IEP meetings and other team discussions to provide valuable insight and recommendations regarding visual impairment needs. Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide consistent updates to parents and educators. Requirements: Valid Kentucky licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably in a virtual setting. Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and assistive technologies for visually impaired students.
