American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU position with night shifts and floating requirements in a mixed acuity telemetry environment.
Job Details
• Work in a mixed acuity unit covering Progressive Care, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry patients,
• Patient population includes stroke, trauma, epilepsy, wound care, and patients requiring advanced therapies such as antibiotics, anticoagulation, VAD management, drains, tracheotomies, feeding tubes, O2, and EtCO2,
• Level II Trauma Center and Level III Epilepsy Center,
• Primary Stroke Center designation,
• Required to perform bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and apply AIDET communication standards,
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend coverage,
• Potential for 36 or 48 hour per week assignments,
• Must float to other units if overstaffed on primary unit,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license in WI required at time of consideration,
• Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience,
• BLS certification required; AHA certifications required prior to start,
• ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred,
• Strong customer service and phone communication skills required,
• Must provide 2 references, with at least one supervisor reference,
• Cannot live within a 60 mile radius of the facility,
• Previous travelers must have a 1 year break in service after working 52 weeks at the facility,

• Responsibilities include managing mixed acuity patients and performing advanced care procedures such as video EEG, wound care, and tracheostomy management,
• Team-based environment with expectations for high quality communication using the AIDET framework,
• Orientation includes up to 8 hours of assigned modules and training activities,
• Candidates must complete required labs and compliance appointments within 48 hours of assignment signing,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment,
• No holiday time off is permitted except for one holiday if multiple occur during the assignment,),
