Who We Are:
Space Kinetic is a cleared, venture-backed startup focused on addressing urgent security priorities. Our goal is to deliver a suite of asymmetric capabilities for space superiority and missile defense leveraging our proprietary electromechanical deployment system, which enables the rapid deployment of low-cost payloads through space without firing a thruster. Space Kinetic is currently assembling its TRL-5 prototype. Our goal is to leverage this platform to provide the United States with a new tool for securing the space domain & catalyzing the emerging space economy. What You'll Do:

As a CNC Manufacturing Intern, you will support engineering to help build out our new state-of-the-art CNC workshop in El Segundo, CA. You will work with the Space Kinetic manufacturing and engineering team on programming, setup, and testing of CNC machines. This role involves ensuring a clean and organized workspace in our warehouse setting. What It Takes: Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program at an accredited college or university. Passion for design, manufacturing, and testing of space systems and mechanisms. Willingness to learn CNC machine practices, materials, operations, and processes, along with general mechanical knowledge. Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve setup and machining issues promptly. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mechanical skills. Confidence in handling complex machine setups. Physical ability to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components, and ability to stand for long periods. Ability to interpret technical instructions, procedures, and regulations. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, self-driven, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and communicate effectively. U.S. or lawful permanent resident status (green card holder) required to conform with U.S. export regulations. Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance. What We'd Love: Knowledge of CNC lathe setup, programming, and operation. Experience with design projects, manufacturing processes, calculations, and analysis. Interest in space-grade components and ratings. Curiosity about testing in-space operations. Passion for the space industry, including spacecraft or launch vehicle development. Where You'll Be: Onsite at our headquarters in El Segundo, CA. ITAR Requirements:
