Survey Project Manager
to support our Survey and Geomatics team in Bellingham, Washington. In this role, you’ll lead complex survey projects, guide technical delivery, and support the professional growth of staff. You’ll join a collaborative group committed to high-quality service and technical innovation. DEA operates its Survey and Geomatics team as a revenue-generating business line and invests in modern tools, including GPS, terrestrial and mobile 3D scanning, and hydrographic survey systems. You’ll have access to cutting-edge resources and a steady pipeline of diverse, impactful projects. About the Role As Survey Project Manager, you will oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets for a wide range of services including boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys. You’ll serve as a mentor to junior team members while also coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure exceptional project delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and client expectations
Perform and review boundary calculations and topographic survey data
Oversee quality control for drawings, plats, ALTA maps, and construction staking calculations
Guide and support survey crews and office staff, promoting professional development
Lead proposal writing and collaborate on project pursuits
Ensure compliance with DEA processes for project accounting, documentation, and quality
Coordinate with the Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staffing and project commitments
Collaborate with DEA’s engineering and planning teams to support integrated project delivery
What You Bring Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification
8 or more years of experience in land surveying
Proven ability to manage projects and mentor technical staff
Strong communication and client interaction skills
Proficiency in Civil 3D and general understanding of engineering plan sets
Preferred Qualifications Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Washington
Familiarity with state and county mapping standards
Experience with Trimble Business Center

Anticipated salary range:
$85,000 to $115,000 The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
