Underwriting Account Representative

Underwriting Account Representative Position Responsibilities: The Middle Market Underwriting Account Representative (UAR) is responsible for supporting the underwriting process for new and renewal customers across multiple lines of insurance, including property, casualty, workers' compensation, excess lines, and automobile coverages. This role involves collaborating with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service, and producer/client management goals for an assigned book of business in the middle market segment of Commercial Insurance. The UAR will gather and analyze account information, interpret data into rating and issuance instructions, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and corporate pricing strategies. Additionally, in partnership with the Underwriter, the UAR will assist with binding and issuing new and renewal business, and ensure proper documentation of files. Position Specifics: Locations: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; San Ramon, CA; Pleasanton, CA; Walnut Creek, CA; Phoenix, AZ Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Associate’s degree or higher; 4-year degree preferred Minimum of 1-2 years relevant insurance experience preferred The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and internet navigation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in a multicultural environment Proven analytical and mathematical skills, including arithmetic, algebra, and basic accounting principles Strong business acumen and critical thinking abilities for confident decision-making Ability to learn quickly, prioritize tasks, and perform within time constraints Strong time management and attention to detail to meet or exceed business goals Basic knowledge of underwriting principles and policy forms is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
