Your impact

By joining our team, we’ll harness your expertise as an innovator and business leader to develop strategies to solve our clients’ challenging energy needs. You’ll work closely across operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership to grow our business and deliver successful outcomes for our clients and communities.

You will oversee Jacobs’ Transmission & Distribution Group in North America, including the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality power transmission and distribution projects. You will play a crucial role in developing strategic plans and ensuring successful project execution within the power sector. Your focus will be working with clients to deliver successful outcomes, building the business in collaboration with our Growth & Sales team whilst growing and developing your team. You will deploy your leadership skills to scale our client and project portfolios and ensure alignment with our two strategic objectives expanding our core business and creating a business of the future.

As an experienced and collaborative leader, you will motivate your team to learn and explore creative options, challenging them to look for new ideas and innovative ways of delivering for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of our Energy & Power business in Jacobs’ “home” market.

Your primary responsibilities will include client-facing delivery in leadership roles, responsible for overall work progress, technical performance and client and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will focus on

Development of delivery capability for electrical transmission and distribution engineering design projects for utility, industrial and municipal clients, Execution of market strategy to support Jacobs’s growth Collaborating with our Growth & Sales teams on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. This will include extensive client dialogue, team building, and development of differentiating strategies You will also continue development of our HVDC Practice Across North America. You will work in collaboration with our global and North Americas Teams, to help our continued grow across the continent.

Other Responsibilities

Leadership Provide leadership to the T&D team, creating a culture of high trust and high performance in line with Jacobs’ values. Strategic Planning Develop and implement long-term growth strategies for the transmission and distribution sector, aligning them with Jacobs’ goals and market trends. Project Portfolio Management Oversee the planning, design, and execution of transmission and distribution projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Stakeholder Management Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, customers, suppliers, and industry partners. Technical Expertise Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and efficiency in project delivery. Risk Management Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project timelines, costs, or quality, and develop appropriate contingency plans. Team Development Build a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and developing talented professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Here's what you'll need

An accomplished and/or high potential Leader in the energy sector Demonstrable technical competency, preferably across a broad range of T&D related disciplines & projects. A relevant engineering degree is required. Significant experience in leadership roles in Energy Transmission & Distribution, ideally with clear evidence of a highly relevant network of contacts High levels of business acumen, commercially astute and client focused with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the power sector. An entrepreneurial approach & growth mindset, adept at identifying growth opportunities, securing stakeholder buy-in, creating client value and capturing value for Jacobs. Passion for promoting professional development and career growth through mentorship and advocacy. The drive to ensure our team can grow alongside our fast-expanding business and meet our clients' evolving needs. A mature leadership style, the ability to lead with an inclusive & global mindset with strong cultural awareness. The base salary range for this position is $189,100.00 to $260,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
