Alera Group was founded in 2017 and has grown to become the 15th largest broker of US business. We are passionate about our clients’ success in the areas of Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, Retirement Plan Services, and Wealth Services. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service.
Responsibilities
Complete all assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities timely and accurately. Prepare assigned account reconciliations timely and accurately. Work with AR and AP to research and resolve any discrepancies expeditiously. Work closely with coworkers both in and outside of the accounting department to resolve accounting issues and assist in projects. Prepare ad hoc reports and reconciliations. Participate in internal and external financial audits. Monitor general ledger activity for compliance with policy, budget, and regulatory standards. Alert leadership to emerging financial trends and concerns. Support Alera Corporate finance initiatives. Respond to requests from Corporate. Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Accounting 3+ years of accounting experience Strong mathematical and analytical skills Expertise in Excel — including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, etc. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting (preferred) Excellent communication skills required Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Additional Information
This job requires presence in the office on a hybrid schedule as agreed with the manager.

Salary range is $60K to $70K per year.
