Travel Oncology RN - Surgical Oncology/Urology/ENT/Colorectal PCU - Rochester, NY
Assignment Dates: September 15, 2025 - January 10, 2026
Schedule: 3x12s | Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights
Shift Requirements: Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge as Needed
Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Patient Ratio: 28-bed surgical/oncology unit
Position Overview:
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a travel contract in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a major hospital in Rochester, NY . This unit specializes in post-operative care for patients undergoing gastrointestinal, genitourinary, ENT, and colorectal procedures, with a focus on oncologic conditions .
RNs on this unit play a critical role in supporting complex recoveries, monitoring for complications, and providing emotional and clinical support to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, post-operative nursing care for surgical oncology patients
* Monitor telemetry and patient vitals, reporting any abnormalities
* Collaborate with surgical and oncology teams for individualized patient care
* Assist with wound care, drains, IV therapy, and medication administration
* Educate patients and families on discharge care and recovery
* Function in charge nurse role as needed
Unit Highlights:
* 28-bed PCU with a focus on GI, GU, ENT, and colorectal post-op patients
* High volume of oncology-related surgical care

* Requires flexibility, strong critical thinking, and excellent communication
Required Qualifications:
* Active New York State RN License (must be in hand before start)
* Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient nursing experience
* Telemetry experience required
Required Certifications:
* BLS - American Heart Association ONLY
