Business Analyst – Integrated Planning Tool Implementation

Seattle, United States | Posted on 08/19/2025 Our client is implementing a next-generation Integrated Energy Portfolio Planning and Optimization Platform. This Business Analyst (BA) will play a critical role in aligning business needs with system capabilities through every phase of the project—requirements management, solution validation, testing coordination, and post go-live traceability.

The BA will collaborate closely with the Project Manager, vendor implementation team, and internal stakeholders to ensure business, functional, technical, and performance requirements are clearly defined, validated, and traceable through delivery. This is a hands-on analysis and facilitation role—ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional, data-driven environments and brings experience aligning enterprise platforms to short-, medium- and long-horizon energy planning needs.

This is a full-time, on-demand consulting assignment beginning October 1, 2025 , with an anticipated term of 15 months , ending December 31, 2026 . The role is primarily remote, with periodic onsite work in Seattle expected for working sessions, testing support, and transition milestones.

Requirements

Must Haves

· 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise software implementations

· Experience with energy modeling, optimization, or planning platforms such as PSO Enelytix, Ascend, PLEXOS, PSR Analytics, or cQuant

· Familiarity with hydropower operations and integration of wind and solar generation, capacity expansion modeling, production cost modeling, resource adequacy, reliability analyses, portfolio optimization, or market participation tools

· Proven ability to facilitate complex requirements elicitation sessions and manage traceability throughout project lifecycle

· Experience owning and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) across planning, testing, and delivery phases

· Demonstrated experience translating stakeholder needs into structured, testable business and system requirements

· Experience supporting vendor solution design validation, UAT planning, and stakeholder signoff

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to navigate across technical and non-technical teams

Desired Qualifications

· Familiarity with system data integration concepts and external data feeds such as PI Historian, ETRM, ISO portals, and market data APIs

· CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent business analysis certification preferred

· Prior experience working in a public-sector, utility, or governance-intensive environment---

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and document requirements discovery sessions with Planning, Risk, Market Operations, and Utility Technology

· Develop and maintain a complete Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) from intake through testing

· Translate business inputs into functional, technical, and performance requirements for vendor configuration

· Participate in solution reviews and facilitate stakeholder validation

· Define and support UAT test coverage and traceability

· Ensure readiness for operational transition and support post go-live delivery verification

Reporting Structure

This position will report to the BRM/PMO Manager, and will coordinate closely with the Project Manager, vendor team, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
