$75,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Position Summary:

The Director of Employee & Labor Relations is responsible for overseeing employee relations, labor compliance, and workforce policies within the nursing home. This role ensures fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices related to employee conduct, disciplinary actions, investigations, payroll accuracy, and labor management. The Director serves as the primary liaison between employees, nursing leadership, and administration, promoting a positive workplace culture while safeguarding the organization’s compliance with state and federal labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and oversight of employee relations, including counseling, corrective action, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations. Monitor compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and state/federal staffing requirements. Partner with payroll and scheduling teams to ensure accurate timekeeping, hours reconciliation, and resolution of payroll discrepancies. Collaborate with HR and nursing leadership to manage employee attendance, leave requests, overtime, and agency utilization. Develop, implement, and enforce policies related to employee conduct, workplace standards, and labor compliance. Advise supervisors and department heads on labor-related issues, employee performance, and disciplinary actions. Track, analyze, and report labor trends, staffing concerns, turnover, and employee relations metrics to administration. Lead or support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and compliant workplace culture. Conduct training for managers and supervisors on compliance, employee relations best practices, and labor management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of experience in employee relations, labor relations, or HR management (healthcare or long-term care preferred). Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, FMLA, ADA, and long-term care staffing requirements. Experience handling workplace investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution. Excellent communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in HRIS, scheduling, and payroll/timekeeping systems.
