Summary

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

The Director, Benefits is a strategic partner and subject matter expert responsible for establishing and implementing processes and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for the management and administration of employee benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life, short term disability, long term disability, flexible spending accounts and commuter benefits. Manage employee leaves including short- and long-term disability, childcare leave, paid family leave and family medical leave. Manage relationships with brokers, vendors, insurance carriers and all service providers. Develop a comprehensive communication strategy for all benefit and wellness programs to educate and inform employees on their benefit options and how to utilize them effectively. Maintain all benefit polices, ensuring compliance with regulations, analyzing program effectiveness and that materials are up to date. Involved with annual renewals, providing comprehensive benchmarking and proposed recommendations/improvements for plan changes. Support annual Open Enrollment process. Work with internal and external counsel on benefit documentation agreements and insurance policies. Provide high level customer support to all Plan participants.

Qualifications

Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required

10+ years of progressive experience in the benefits field with demonstrated experience managing multiple benefits plans and programs. Expert knowledge of current and pending federal and state regulations regarding employee benefit programs.

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline

Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leader who develops and coaches team members to produce excellent work. Exceptional project management and time-management skills. Ability to operate at both the strategic and at the execution level in a hands-on manner.

Because your family is the NHL family, employees are offered comprehensive Childcare Leave to welcome your new addition. The primary caregiver to the child is entitled to up to 12 weeks of paid Childcare Leave, at full pay, following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child.

Employees that are not the primary caregiver to the child are entitled to up to 6 weeks of paid Childcare Leave, at full pay, which must be taken within the first 6 months following the birth, adoption, or placement of a child.

SALARY RANGE: 135K - 160K

Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
