TITLE: Systems Engineer

RATE RANGE: $50-60/hour
SUMMARY: Our direct client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineerto join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operational tasks within the infrastructure team, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and contributing to the optimization of overall infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment while supporting the organization's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage day-to-day operational tasks for Linux systems and create automation for the same at scale. Perform system administration duties on Redhat/CentOS or Ubuntu platforms. Work on operational tickets and ensure SLAs are met. Utilize Ansible and Puppet for configuration management. Develop tools and automations using programming languages such as Go/Python, and REST APIs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience in Linux system administration, preferably on Redhat/CentOS or Ubuntu distributions Experience scripting usingPython and Bash Automation experience Ansible/GitHub actions or Kubernetes based Proficiency in Ansible and Puppet for configuration management. Nice-to-Haves:
Knowledge of networking principles and protocols. Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-init. Familiarity with datacenter operations and bare metal environments. Previous experience managing systems at scale. Additional Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies.
