Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity, and find security in their lives. Over the years, we have become much more than a shelter. We are a multi-service community center that not only provides meals and shelter but also offers solutions for thousands of women each year through a wide range of support, housing, and educational services. Rosie’s Place relies on the generous support of individuals, foundations, and corporations and does not accept any city, state or federal funding. OPPORTUNITY Rosie’s Place is seeking a Director of Housing Search Services to join the Advocacy team. The Director leads a team of Housing Search Advocates and plays a vital role in program development, budgeting, and cross-agency collaboration. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advocacy Services, they ensure that all housing search services are provided in line with the core values and mission of Rosie’s Place. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Strategy Design and oversee efficient, guest-centered housing search services aligned with Rosie’s Place’s mission and values. Manage and maintain equitable caseload distribution among Housing Search Advocates. Collaborate with internal programs to ensure appropriate and timely guest referrals. Build and sustain strategic partnerships with external housing search organizations (e.g., Boston Housing Authority, Metro Housing). Serve as the primary liaison with external housing search partners to ensure effective service coordination. Evaluate and implement service delivery models to adapt to the evolving needs of guests. Stay current on housing policy developments and community resources to inform and improve service delivery. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of the Housing Search Services program. Supervise, support, and evaluate Housing Search Advocates through regular individual supervision, team meetings, and annual performance reviews, in alignment with Rosie’s Place protocols. Provide staff with targeted training and development opportunities aligned with individual goals and overall programmatic needs. Lead the development and ongoing management of the Housing Search Service’s budget. Coordinate with other programs to deliver streamlined financial assistance and support to guests. Oversee staffing, scheduling, and coverage for housing search services, including remote and in-person operations. Oversee the accuracy of guest records and ensure timely submission of all required reports. Uphold strict confidentiality standards and safeguard guest privacy at all times. Actively contribute to the Management Team, modeling leadership and representing Housing Search Services in cross-program initiatives. Ensure compliance with Rosie’s Place policies, procedures and quality standards. Develop and report on annual program goals through regular quarterly updates. Represent Rosie’s Place in community settings, demonstrating professionalism and alignment with organizational values. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Advocacy Services. QUALIFICATIONS 5–7 years of experience in housing services, with a strong preference for work supporting marginalized or underserved communities. At least 3 years of experience supervising staff, with demonstrated success in team leadership and performance management. Deep commitment to social justice and the mission of Rosie’s Place. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex and dynamic situations with composure. Compassionate, diplomatic communicator with a guest-centered and service-oriented approach. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse team. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other commonly used software platforms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reliable, adaptable, and collaborative team member with a proactive work ethic. WORK EXPECTATIONS We are a hands-on team and seek employees who are passionate about our work and service to our community. The Director of Housing Search Services is expected to work onsite at Rosie’s Place during their work week and engage regularly with staff, guests, and volunteers. While this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, flexibility with days on-site is required to fulfill work obligations and to take part in organization meetings, trainings and events. We continue to adapt to safety protocols related to COVID-19 as we understand them, and all employees must follow our safety protocols. Among these protocols, we require all employees to be up to date with their COVID vaccinations. Requests for medical or religious exemptions from the COVID vaccination are considered. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The starting salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience.
