$123,000.00/yr - $173,000.00/yr The Counsel job supports protecting the organization's rights, obligations, and privileges by drafting legal advice and ensuring legal activities meet organizational needs. It provides support in areas such as corporate law, real estate, tax, litigation, transactions, compliance, IP, employment, governance, and ethics. Key Responsibilities and Duties
Provide legal advice and counsel to management and support the legal department's operations. Assist in protecting the organization's rights in contracts, settlements, and litigation. Draft legal contracts, policies, and related documents for various trade, commercial, and operational matters. Identify and address legal risks across various legal areas. Research and interpret laws, statutes, and regulations. Advise management on legal changes affecting the company. Coordinate with external legal counsel on legal issues impacting the company. Educational and Experience Requirements
Doctoral Degree in Law required. Minimum 3+ years of legal experience; 5+ years preferred. Additional Responsibilities
Support legal management, especially in Timber and Agriculture sectors. Minimize legal risks and liaise with external counsel. Review and coordinate legal documentation related to leases, agreements, and fund structures. Ensure compliance with legislation and work with government relations. Support ESG reporting and legal aspects of sustainability. Engage with the global legal team for best practices. Other Details
