Base pay range
$95,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr Seeking a Maritime Structural Engineer to support the U.S Coast Guard out of their HQ in Washington D.C.. This team will help provide systems engineering, logistics, and management support to government clients, offering services such as life cycle asset management, program and project management, and industrial operations support, including modernizing and sustaining assets. Responsibilities Develop shipbuilding specifications, engineering drawings, and acquisition documentation for new vessels and SLEP initiatives. Conduct structural analyses and load calculations to ensure compliance with industry and government standards. Assess the weight impact of engineering changes and modifications. Perform hydrostatic calculations including weight estimates and stability assessments. Provide technical support and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering required. Master’s degree in a related field strongly preferred. Degrees in Ocean, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering may be considered with at least two years of experience in marine structures. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in vessel design, construction, or repair, with a focus on marine engineering/naval architecture. At least 2 years of experience performing structural calculations for ships or marine structures. Demonstrated experience in detailed design and analysis of marine structures outside of academic settings. Experience with high-speed planning craft design is highly desirable Seniority level
