Base pay range
$180,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a fast-growing technology company in downtown Dallas to find a Commercial Counsel with 4–7 years of experience handling complex commercial transactions. This is a hybrid position (2 days remote, 3 onsite) reporting directly to the General Counsel. The role will support cross-functional teams and drive contract negotiations, compliance, and legal operations for a diverse range of technology offerings. Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including MPSAs, CSAs, SOWs, and partnership agreements. Advise internal stakeholders on legal and risk-related issues across business functions. Maintain and update contract templates in line with regulatory and industry changes. Lead initiatives to identify legal and compliance gaps and integrate updates into operational processes. Provide legal guidance on matters related to privacy, governance, and corporate policies. Support general legal operations, including litigation and employment matters as needed. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school; active license in at least one U.S. state. 4–7 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting. 3+ years handling technology-related commercial transactions. Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills. Proven ability to balance legal risk with business priorities. Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with government contracts and California employment law is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and contract management systems.
