About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair of Pediatrics to lead and support the academic, clinical, and research activities of its growing department. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and collaborative leader with a strong vision for excellence in clinical care, particularly in the context of a large academic medical center. Responsibilities include setting a strategic vision for the department, overseeing its clinical, educational, and research endeavors, and working closely with faculty, staff, and trainees to foster a culture of growth and development. The Chair will also be accountable for the operational, financial, and clinical strategies of the department, in partnership with the administrative dyad.
Applicants for the Chair of Pediatrics position at the company should be accomplished leaders in the field, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a relevant academic or clinical leadership role. The role requires a candidate with an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree, board certification in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialty, and the ability to be appointed as an Associate or Full Professor at the company's Institute for Academic Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in recruiting and developing faculty, staff, and trainees, and will be adept at navigating the opportunities and challenges of a large academic department. The Chair will work in close collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer and the WVU Medical School Charleston Campus Regional Dean, and will play a key role in the clinical mission across all divisions.
