This pivotal role demands a professional with over 15 years' experience in business development, strategic sales, or partnerships, ideally within the biofuels, agtech, or industrial biotechnology sectors. A deep understanding of the ethanol ecosystem, including plant operations, regulatory landscape, and key value levers, is essential. The role also requires strong technical and commercial acumen, the ability to manage sales cycles with industrial customers, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Business Development include leading market outreach, customer development, strategic positioning, partnership development, market intelligence, sales enablement, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude to understand and communicate the commercial value of biotechnology innovations, exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to travel to meet customers, attend industry events, and support field deployments. Experience in raising non-dilutive capital and project finance capital is a plus, as is a background in chemical engineering, agricultural science, or biotechnology.
