Flooring Installation Lead

PLEASE NOTE: If you have not applied before, you will need to first create an account after clicking "Apply" The Flooring Installation Lead is a skilled professional responsible for the expert installation of various flooring materials for renovation and new build projects across the Baptist Health System. This hands-on role ensures that all flooring work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality, contributing directly to a premier patient and staff environment. This position requires a flexible, team-oriented individual who may travel to other campuses and work occasional nights or weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform duties on a Baptist Health campus, overseeing daily operations of the flooring installation team, including task assignment, site layout, managing schedules, and monitoring progress. Provide on-the-job training, technical guidance, and mentorship to flooring installers and helpers to ensure skill development and adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices. Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment, proactively addressing and resolving on-site challenges or conflicts. Conduct regular inspections of subfloor preparation and completed flooring sections to ensure they meet quality standards, durability requirements, and project specifications. Coordinate with the project manager and suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of flooring materials, adhesives, and specialized equipment. Assist in estimating material needs and labor hours for flooring projects to support budgeting and cost control. Enforce strict adherence to all safety guidelines and protocols, particularly regarding material handling, tool usage, and maintaining a clean, trip-free work area. Perform hands-on installation of various flooring products (e.g., LVT, sheet vinyl, carpet tile, VCT) across a variety of substrates and environments. Perform repairs on existing floor coverings, including seam repairs, tile replacement, and transition adjustments. Contribute to the overall success of the Baptist Health Construction team by performing other essential duties as assigned. Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience by minimizing disruption and maintaining a professional presence. Other information:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Completion of a vocational program or flooring apprenticeship is preferred. At least five (5) years of successful experience in the installation of commercial flooring, including subfloor preparation, carpet tile, broadloom, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), VCT, and sheet goods. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. This job will be authorized for 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
