NICU RN Job Details Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Washington nursing jobs) Facility: Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse Start Date: September 22, 2025 End Date: December 22, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,730 - $1,850 per week Patient Population: Neonates and infants (23-24 weeks gestation and older) Unit Size: 77 beds (average census: 50) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Washington RN license or Compact State License Minimum 3 years of recent Level III NICU nursing experience, or at least 1 year in Level IV NICU Current BLS and NRP certifications required Experience with Epic EMR charting system preferred Proficiency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high frequency ventilators, oscillators, and blood/blood product administration Skilled in central/PICC line care, feeding tube placement, neonatal dosage calculations, and therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) Ability to float to other campuses (Issaquah, Edmonds) and Pediatrics (infants only) as needed Strong communication and teamwork skills NICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide family-centered, compassionate care to critically ill neonates and infants in a high-acuity NICU environment Monitor, assess, and document patient status, interventions, and outcomes using Epic EMR Administer blood products, manage advanced ventilators, and deliver respiratory support Perform central/PICC line care, feeding tube management, and medication administration Attend high-risk deliveries and assist with neonatal surgeries as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers Float to other units or campuses as required, caring for newborns and infants outside the NICU Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures Discover why Seattle is a top choice for travel nurses and healthcare professionals.
