Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 09/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical imaging team for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate will perform specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound using high-frequency sound waves to help healthcare professionals detect anatomical abnormalities. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal communication abilities. Key Responsibilities: - Perform ultrasound procedures according to departmental protocols, ensuring exams are completed within the designated timeframe. - Conduct daily clerical duties including patient scheduling and data entry using EPIC and other computer systems. - Execute portable ultrasound exams and a variety of complex technical tasks to identify anatomical abnormalities, such as masses, abscesses, and stones. - Assist physicians with biopsy deep abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound as needed. - Prepare medical supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures. - Prepare and position patients for diagnostic examinations while explaining procedures and addressing their concerns. - Evaluate technical quality of images and ensure proper documentation of ultrasound findings. - Maintain accurate records, manage data archiving as required, and ensure compliance with departmental policies. - Perform routine maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functioning. - Provide technical assistance and mentorship to students, employees, and medical residents. - Adhere to safety and infection control standards and respond to emergency situations as required. - Maintain CEU credits and comply with all relevant certifications and licensure standards. Required Skills & Experience: - Must be CPR certified. - In-depth knowledge of ultrasound equipment and operational controls. - Understanding of equipment service procedures and computer systems. - Solid grasp of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. - Familiarity with safety, infection, and disaster policies. - A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound is preferred. Education & Certifications: - Required: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School with 2 years of training in Allied Health/College. - Required: R.D.M.S. registered (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer). Schedule: - Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with weekends as needed, on-call assignments as per departmental policy. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily. At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
